** Abstract Deadline Extended to October 31, 2008 (11:59pm Eastern).

April 3, 2009 : : A Special Pre-conference Assembly

: : Scaling Up Global Health Education and Training
Hosted by GHEC and featuring a full day of sessions discussing the evolution of global health education on campuses and in the field, and the resulting anticipated shifts to the global health workforce

: : Global Health Career Clinic
A half-day clinic especially for students and residents exploring best means to incoporate global health into their careers either in a part- or full-time capacity

** All deadlines are 11:59 pm Eastern Time.

October 31, 2008:

Deadline for all abstract submissions. Electronic forms and accompanying support materials, if any, are formatted and forwarded to the Review Committee. Materials received after October 31 will not be reviewed.


December 8, 2008:
Review session is completed and hopeful presenters are informed of their abstracts' acceptance status (accept / decline / wait list / invitation to present in an alternate format).

Individuals whose abstracts are accepted will receive an invitation to present along with instructions for reserving and securing a presentation slot. Instructions to secure slot include the requirement to register, and complete payment by December 29, 2008.

December 29, 2008:
Deadline for abstract presenters to secure presentation slots.

December 31, 2008:
Individuals on the Wait List are informed of their updated status (accept / decline / invitation to present in an alternate format) and asked to confirm their availability to present. Instructions to secure slot include requirement to register and complete payment by January 12, 2009.

January 12, 2008:
Deadline for previously Wait Listed presenters to confirm availability and secure presentation slots.
