A regional global health education conference and poster session is being held to
a. increase awareness of opportunities in IH- clinical, research, education, service
b. Provide practical information on how to plan an elective
c. Raise awareness and promote advocacy of global health issues
d. Assist other schools in getting started in IH activities
e. Determine interest in establishing a regional GHEC organization
Workshops and lectures will offer discussion on social justice and health; travel safety and legal issues; student experiences abroad; evaluating the educational value of international electives; ethical issues in international health. A poster session will be held.
